THE CONSTELLATIONS WE ARE BORN IN TO HAVE A STUNNINGLY SIGNIFICANT INFLUENCE ON ALL LEVELS OF OUR EXISTENCE, THE PHYSICAL APPEARANCE BEING BY FAR THE MOST IMMEDIATELY OBVIOUS AND EASILY DISTINGUISHABLE.
note: the placements with the most impact according to the extensive research I’ve conducted appears to be: the lagna (ascendant), the moon, the sun, the AtmaKaraka and the lagna lord (ruler of the ascendant rashi (sign)).
THE 27 NAKSHATRAS ARE VERY MUCH LIKE 27 CELESTIAL RACES AND ONCE FAMILIAR WITH THE SPECIFIC PECULIARITIES OF EACH, ONE NEEDS ONLY TO GLANCE AT A PERSON’S FACE TO DETERMINE WHICH THEY BELONG TO.
note: every constellation has a particular look of it’s own and this seems to be part way to do with the planetary ruler according to the Vimshottari Dasa system, as the planet’s energies will be shaping our entire experience both physically and non-physically. The nature and descriptions of the deities associated also appear to have some part to play, although until my research has matured somewhat, I’m unable to state that definitively. The shape of the facial features certaintly seem to be in accordance with the various energetic influences awarded with a particular asterism; that energy’s gender, guna and nature being of influence too. I will of course present this theory in time when as more nakshatras pages are completed.
BELOW, I HAVE PRESENTED A VAST NUMBER OF EXAMPLES FOR YOU TO STUDY IN ORDER FOR YOU TO DETECT FOR YOURSELF THE INCREDIBLE SIMILARITIES SHARED, IN REGARDS TO PHYSICAL TRAITS AND PERCEIVABLE CHARACTERS COMMON TO NATIVES OF THE CELESTIAL RACE EMANATING FROM STARS SHARATAN AND MESARTHIM, A.K.A ASHWINI NAKSHATRA.
note: extensive ashwini insights and information regarding how this constellation shapes it’s natives behaviours, tendencies, natures and personalities are below the gallery at the bottom of the page.
“Most persons are so absorbed in the contemplation of the outside world that they are wholly oblivious to what is passing on within themselves. My brain is only a receiver, in the Universe there is a core from which we obtain knowledge, strength and inspiration. I have not penetrated into the secrets of this core, but I know that it exists. The human being is a self-propelled automaton entirely under the control of external influences. Willful and predetermined though they appear, his actions are governed not from within, but from without. He is like a float tossed about by the waves of a turbulent sea.”
– Nikola Tesla ( Ascendant in Ashwini)

ASHWINI NAKSHATRA
By Klara DelPeache
The original 28 Nakshatras or lunar mansions are the cosmic energies which filter our experiences as conscious entities. 9 Grahas or “planets” are allocated supreme “planetary” rulership over the energy frequencies sent from these constellations and all of the patterns or distortions they take on their way to us — flavouring those energies with their own archetypal edge and imparting their traits, tastes and tendencies to us, thus animating their mythology through our lives, teaching us about them through the things we come to learn about ourselves.
Rahu and Ketu of course cover 6 of these constellations. But according to the original and most logical ordering of the Nakshatras, it is the highest octave of Ketu’s energies that I wish to explore here - Ashwini. Rahu is described in the Puranas as being an immensely powerful trouble maker who devours the sun and the moon - the givers of life to all. The sun and moon’s creative faculties are still subject to the laws of time and it’s cyclic nature and thus are subject to Rahu’s impact and influence as the nodes, Rahu and Ketu are the lords of time and the karmic neutralisers/agents of the universe. Rahu is the messenger of the highest spiritual forces and is the shadow body who eclipses the sun and thus accentuates those areas to which our own divine light is obscured by shadow. However, Rahu is the head without a body. It has function but no meaning. A body cannot function without a head to make sense of it’s signals, but the signals are still present, despite the lack of apparatus needed to decipher them. And that is why it has been said that if Rahu represents knowledge, then Ketu represents wisdom. Ketu is said to be the eldest amongst the graha and the head of all of the stars and the planets. Ketu is the alpha and the omega; the beginning and the end and is the most powerful amongst the celestial forces. This means that its influence on earth and life must hold some lessons worth investigating and divine wisdom worth pursuing.
“Pain's not bad, it's good. It teaches you things. I understand that. We're told, everybody, that all things are bad. Bad is not good and good is not bad. Bad and good go together. You have to accept one to understand the other. You've got to accept yourself as God. You've got to realize you're just the devil just as much as you're God, that you're everything and you're nothing at all.”
― Charles Manson (Ashwini Ascendant)
Each time a planet is able to reinforce its energies upon the Nakshatras, it increases in potency and if the chart supports it - it also allows for a development in control over those energies; harnessing them to use consciously or towards an intention that is desirable. So as per the original and most intuitively and planetary speaking, the most sensical ordering of the Nakshatras — Ashwini, which rules the feet — is at the foot of the list of constellations in natal astrology — Nakshatra number 26, rather than the first — something which always puzzled me until I learnt of the change in ordering which was decided upon much more recently. This understanding immediately made sense of the things I had been quietly ruminating over regarding the nuances of the mythology, attributes and deities of these Nakshatras.
So, taking the original ordering into consideration, Ashwini would then be considered the last of the Nakshatras who’s consciousness is guided or carried by Ketu’s hand, and so embodies the higher, more refined octaves of its influence.
Ketu begins to create the penetrating awareness typical of a Ketu Nakshatra native, which by this point, after having already developed it somewhat through the majestic nature of Magha where we were able to create profound levels of power and name for ourselves and the powerfully destructive nature of Mula, where we were able to experience the capabilities of Ketu and destroy with powerful force, this nature of Ketu - which is like Rahu, recognised for its ability to bring extreme gains and extreme losses, extreme good and extreme bad, extreme creation and extreme destruction; is now available for the native to choose to embody the lessons learnt from such potent highs and savage lows, with the choice to balance the axis of Ketu’s impact and through this balance and perform acts which are described as being “miraculous” in nature.
The deities of this constellation are the divine horsemen, who are described as being demi-gods. They are said to be both the dawn and the dusk. The dawn and dusk are where light and dark touch one another, meeting, and a balance is established between the polarities of light and day. The Kumaras are said to be heaven AND earth; the sun AND the moon; the ocean AND the sky. This suggests to me that Ashwini is the asterism under who’s influence, we are able to not just know, understand, or talk about taking the middle path; but rather I think when the mythology is looked at - this is the place where we are able to actually LIVE the middle path and truly embody the lessons our souls have learnt throughout our journey through the zodiac.
“No sense makes sense.”
― Charles Manson (Ashwini Ascendant)
This functioning within the native may not act purely on an intellectual and entirely accessible level at first, if at all. Whether the person is aware of it or not, subconsciously and down to the most primordial level of consciousness, through Ketu’s avarana shakti, which is of course the veil which conceals the real truth behind the illusion of this reality, and the influence of Mangala (Mars) who is Skanda - the brother of Ketu’s deity Ganesh, and the fact Ashwini is the exaltation point of Surya who is Shiva the supreme deity of the universe and father to both Skanda and Ganesh… the divine light of understanding is here able to be shone into the tamasic darkness to find it to be alive with divine intent and through the nature of this asterism; also a potent source for creative energies.
“I don’t want to be a product of my environment. I want my environment to be a product of me.”
— Jack Nicholson (Sun in Ashwini)
Mangal is a powerfully spiritual force which brings ones inner potential out to be made manifest on the outer planes and when that inner potential is Ketu’s channel of the divine; seeing as Ketu is usually concerned with the externalisation of the divine plan but unwilling to actually immerse himself in the material world due to his awareness of its true nature; Mangal is perhaps the necessary force needed to supersede concern for anything other than the divine plan to which he follows unquestioningly. The issues that the Martial influence faces are those of an unforgiving and dominating level of confidence which may have usually overpowered another graha – however, when set before Ketu, these energies are no longer of great concern seeing as Ketu holds the title of the head of the stars and planets, with whom the greatest power is wielded.
Blavatsky said that Mars energy can be summarised as being all that comes under the word “art”. And perhaps that is why life is seen as a brilliant immersion into a display of the most awe inspiring art by so many natives of this constellation.
I love to sit and watch people. I love to sit and listen to people.
— Daniel Day-Lewis (Ashwini Moon)
“I do like taking stuff seriously that a lot of people look at as nonsense. I enjoy the insanity of that. And I like the commitment that is needed for that.”
— Christian Bale (Ashwini Moon)
When you truly see life as an expression of divine art then you understand yourself to be the artist and as a being under the influence of Ketu, since you’re said to have no head (ego), you are in a fantastic position to embody the ultimate position of the jester, who plays with the world with utter detachment - a fundamental trait of Ketu that is strong and unmissable within Ashwini.
“I've always had an urge to feed my need to have fun and feel free. I don't see any interesting alternatives.”
— Jack Nicholson (Sun in Ashwini)
The intent of the node’s force is for Rahu to create an environment where we become so deeply attached to our illusions and so plastered to our ideas about ourselves and our lives and identities that we eventually are made to understand why it is not good for us to over identify with our personality and it’s various elaborate creations, so as to maintain harmony and allow for the total materialisation of that which supports our development as souls and the manifestation of that which is in perfect balance with the demands of Rahu’s inseparable counterpart, Ketu.
Ketu’s will is for us to use the penetrating mind his influence bestows upon a person, for introspection — which leads us to extrospection, which ultimately has us arrive at the awareness of the illusory nature of the material world and the subsequent emergence of what is known as Ketu’s “mysterious illumination”. A darkness, which is somehow also illuminated – due to the darkness truly only being a veil. This is a phenomenon which can actually be seen in the expressions of the Ketuvian native and it’s a funny, unique thing of its own. Bepin Behari says that it is the intangibility behind the small but powerfully loaded famous smile of the Mona Lisa – he says, “One wonders whether the enigmatic smile reveals the detached delight of a mature woman or her concealed involvement with the external world, but it clearly distinguishes the inner person from the outer surroundings. One can similarly imagine the enigmatic splendour of Ketu arising from it’s understanding of human nature wrapped up in the great illusion. Such an expression arises from recognising human ignorance and the possibility of acquiring the greater wisdom that common human beings so light-heartedly neglect. The Jaimini element of Ketu, makes the individual a serious student who comprehends the vastness of the subject of enquiry and the limitations of the human mind. Such a comprehension of inner realities does not however completely dissolve the individual’s attachment to the illusory world.”
So I now have words to articulate the peculiarity of the familiar smirk I have found to be just, staggeringly common to Ashwini Nakshatra natives – who are under the most potent influence of Ketu and are thus the most sinister (or sweet) displayers of this look, (I can’t decide which).
Bharani – the last nakshatra, ruled by Venus – the natural ruler of the Maraka killer 2nd and 7th houses, Bharani also being owned by Lord Yama, God of Death… Bharani natives too are said to be detectable by a sinister smile which has the ability to scare/charm your socks off. The smile that is born in Ashwini and shared only with Bharani as the real smile of someone who is here on earth, playing the game, doing the things, saying the words… but who knows the deal. Not necessarily consciously, but when it is – you’ll see it in their words. Regardless, one can so often see it in the expression. The number of examples of this is phenomenal. It was almost like a couldn’t find a quote or a photo without the symbolic or literal smirk.
But considering Behari’s interpretation of this “mysterious illumination”, we can simply say it’s a smile that has a lot of weight to it which is difficult to articulate or explain. We can in fact look to it as an indication of the successful regeneration, to whatever degree – great or small, of the spiritual and mental faculties returning to cosmic perfection where it no longer answers to illusion and has moved past and gone beyond the nagging pitfalls of material reality and it’s numerous obstacles on the path to liberation – which really is our immortality.
It’s the taste the Ashwin Twins got of the Soma. The deities of this Nakshatra are said to be demi-gods – so only half way divine. And when they learnt of the Soma and its ability to liberate oneself and allow the soul to reach moksha and escape the cycle of death and rebirth – it’s all they cared about. It became the knowledge that didn’t allow them to think of anything else. It was the realisation for the focus with which they aligned the entire course of their lives. One even wonders if the Shakti – to quickly reach one’s goal – is so that they could hurry up with their business and get on with it back to the ethereal realms. This is one of the important lessons that will ring poignantly true and uncomfortably relevant for those with dominant placements in Ashwini.
“There must be another life, she thought, sinking back into her chair, exasperated. Not in dreams; but here and now, in this room, with living people. She felt as if she were standing on the edge of a precipice with her hair blown back; she was about to grasp something that just evaded her. There must be another life, here and now, she repeated. This is too short, too broken. We know nothing, even about ourselves.”
— Virginia Woolf (Moon in Ashwini)
This is because the deities of this constellation to whom Ashwini natives are fundamentally connected to, became depressed when they were told they couldn’t drink the soma yet – that they still had to fulfil their dharma. That they still had a duty to fulfil, otherwise they wouldn’t have taken births and given the divine qualities awarded to Ashwini Nakshatra in the first place. Their role in society and “miraculous healing powers” were an important indication that the universe still had a plan for them and that they must fulfil the demands of their dharma before turning to liberation and drinking the soma, becoming fully divine and getting a place amongst the Gods.
Ashwini allows the person to exhibit qualities and abilities that are truly extraordinary – the actors under this influence are example enough. The innovators and inventors are just proving the point. But what is common to Ashwini is the lack of attachment to their achievements, identities, abilities or status. They know it is nothing; everything everyone wants but really absolutely nothing at all. Funnily enough many Ashwini natives will credit their abilities to a higher power or astral/spiritual influence.
The gift of mental power comes from God, Divine Being, and if we concentrate our minds on that truth, we become in tune with this great power. ”
– Nikola Tesla (Ashwini Ascendant)
Perhaps this willingness is due to a subtle awareness that the more attachment to the anchors of this realm, the more we are tied up, the tighter it’s grip and thus the longer we’re stuck here… so there’s a definite detachment which allows one to move through life largely unbothered or unphased by the circus in which Ashwini is somewhere in between the Jester and the Magician.
“I keep myself amused and others confused”
— Benedict Cumberbatch (Moon in Ashwini)
One foot in, one foot out. Still very much immersed in the experience, but from a place that is either consciously or unconsciously removed; detached and somewhat apathetic. Ashwini natives are often described as being rude or standoffish — especially to those who try to control or impose their will or expectations upon them.
“If you have an over-preoccupation with perception and trying to please people's expectations, then you can go mad.”
— Benedict Cumberbatch (Moon in Ashwini)
For the Ashwini native understands that when you are all bent up by the crippling force of your own seriousness, you become a plaything for those who have a little more perspective than you - those who keep this precious secret to themselves — those who understand that to be in charge of one’s own destiny is the only way to enjoy life fully, deeply and endlessly. They know that to not be free is a fate worse than death and that perosnal freedom is the way to move through this life without being caught up by those who know this to be true and for whom you may already be working as a pawn for in their bid for freedom.
“As for politics, I’m an anarchist. I hate governments and rules and fetters. Can’t stand caged animals. People must be free.”
— Charlie Chaplin (Sun in Ashwini)
And for the most part this can only be understood by accepting that life is both heavenly and horrendous. This is a difficult task however and it is understandable if many struggle to embody this lesson. But if you do not take the lead and make your own mind up every single moment, as to what it is you decide to do with your life next, somebody else will and that is not a potential reality that one should take lightly.
“Once conform, once do what other people do because they do it, and a lethargy steals over all the finer nerves and faculties of the soul. She becomes all outer show and inward emptiness; dull, callous, and indifferent.”
— Virginia Woolf (Moon in Ashwini)
Even if you choose to surrender to the will of another, at least be sure to make that decision yourself — because still, even then you are choosing to submit; as opposed to being covertly manipulated into doing so — something which typically creates, at best — irritation for the Ashwini native, but for those with a more turbulent nature, a truly dangerous and explosive rage. Like their sacred animal - the horse knows, to be wild is to be free.
“And you learn to stand on your own. So, I am walking and standing on my own. People see me standing on my own and not too many people in your world can do that. And I don't realize that at that particular time. I don't realize how weak and mindless you people are.”
— Charles Manson (Ashwini Ascendant)
The Ashwini person is so full of life because they have understood that the only way out of this life is through it. And going through it with meaning.
“The way out of a room is not through the door. Just don't want out. And you're free…”
― Charles Manson (Ashwini Ascendant)
The world becomes a playground when you understand that the meaning is found in whatever it is you are doing. You may once again see the world through the eyes of a child — a quality that is widely recognised as being prominent in the nature and disposition of the Ashwini native. For when you know you are being guided by a higher power, and you are able to actually prove that to yourself — why would one bother getting all caught up in the concerns that people who have not yet reached this realisation can often ruin their own lives worrying about, or obsessing over?
“Let us simmer over our incalculable cauldron, our enthralling confusion, our hotchpotch of impulses, our perpetual miracle - for the soul throws up wonders every second. Movement and change are the essence of our being; rigidity is death; conformity is death; let us say what comes into our heads, repeat ourselves, contradict ourselves, fling out the wildest nonsense, and follow the most fantastic fancies without caring what the world does or thinks or says. For nothing matters except life.”
— Virginia Woolf (Ashwini Moon)
The sleepy, heavy eyes – the windows to the soul – indicate this in-between worlds state. The curtains are half way down, ready to call it a night, slip back into the darkness beyond. It’s why these natives are able to literally switch one head for another – potently chameleon-like. Because the head is just the ego and Ashwini may as well replace it with a flag.
The flag is the symbol for Ketu – the ruler of Ashwini Nakshatra. A flag is, “an emblem of something higher in who’s name and under who’s authority the person carrying the flag operates.” Behari explains this dynamic perfectly saying, “The individual under this impulse works but what he does is for someone else: he carries out the order given by a power. Similarly, the generative organ does not procreate, it merely carries the seed from the male to the female. Ketu provides the channel for creative energy. Ketu assists in the externalisation of the divine plan. Ketu externalises the wisdom concealed in manifestation so that the material entity is induced towards spiritual unfoldment. Ketu’s influence acts as a catalytic agent to link the manifestation with its inner reality. In this process, ketu functions as pure intelligence. Ketu is born under Abhijit Nakshatra and relates to the bright norther star, Vega. It occupies the sign of Capricorn where the universalisation of the individual takes place. The guiding motto of this asterism is in consonance with the planetary impulse of Ketu; both aim at carrying out the will of the Gods. Ketu’s relationship with the spiritual hierarchies highlight by its being born under Abhijit. The Vedas also describe Ketu as seated in a Divine car [(a SpiritVehicle!!)], analogous to a chariot that goes around Mount Mandara, also called Meru – the peak of the mountain with which Lord Krishna, the incarnation of Vishnu identifies himself. Meru represents the magic mountain consisting of gold and gems around which all the planets are said to evolve. This suggest that ketu acts as an agent for Vishnu, the preserver and assists the gods and demons in the churning of the ocean. The allegory stands for the stresses and strains in human life that lead to psychological mutation in order to externalise the divine nectar. During this churning process, many jewels came out of the sea. In the life of an individual, such changes may have a great destabilising effect but enable him to externalise his latent powers. Such an impulse on the cosmic plane leads to great cataclysmic changes. While these changes take place and the ocean is churned, Ketu along with Rahu continue to assist the opposing forces to further their divine mission of generating the nectar – the most precious essence of existence, diffused throughout the universe.”
“Look, but don't touch. Touch, but don't taste. Taste, but don't swallow.”
— Al Pacino (Sun in Ashwini)
NOTES ON BEHAVIOUR:
This is a no nonsense, straight to the point constellation. It’s natives are frank, honest (mostly!) and don’t tend to beat around the bush with what they’re trying to say. They tend to give it to you straight, whether you like it or not as they are usually of the sentiment that they don’t have time to tend to delicate flowers and prefer the pull up your bootstraps and and make a go of it type of attitude. When observing the behaviours of Ashwini natives, its very helpful to bear in mind that this is Aries - the very opposite of fair, calm and balanced Libra!
Ashwini natives are often seen as being rude, standoffish and a bit arrogant, as long as you are on the outside of their circle or close associates. This rudeness is usually impatience or unfortunately at times a form of intellectual elitism as Ashwini natives are often of an above average intelligence. Which, when combined with their extremely speedy natures, means they’re often 10 steps ahead and thus irritated for having to stop or slow down to consider somebody else.
These people get the job done, fast. For this they are often overlooked or underestimated as they make things look very easy when in fact it has just been conducted with such speed and precision (Mars influence) that it appeared a simple undertaking, even if it wasn’t.
Miraculous healing is most commonly associated with this Nakshatra due to the deities being the Physicians to the Gods and were said to have travelled around restoring sight to the bling, hearing to the deaf and youthfulness to the aged. Thus, the natives of Ashwini are often found in healing or medical professions. This is often holistic, as Ketu gives Ashwini the ability to move energy extremely well and manipulate energy fields. Ashwini people are extremely sensitive to vibration and thus sound and can use both in their forms of healing. More often however, Ashwini people are able to transit their healing powers either through their presence and the uplifting effect this usually has upon people, or through their support, advice or teaching which can be given in any myriad of ways.
When feeling trapped, pressured or restrained, Ashwini natives are the most likely to follow their horse instincts and bolt. What we like to call “ghosting” is a phenomenon Ashwini natives are known to resort to if their initial hints are not noticed or respected.
The concept of down-time is often completely alien and depending on the planet associated or accentuating the Ashwini Nakshatra placement, the possibility of them taking a break, having time away or relaxing at all for any extended period of time are slim to none. Nikola Tesla would work 18 hours a day and was once said to have worked for 84 hours straight without break on his research and inventions. When he was in study, the headmaster had to contact his father to tell him that they were concerned that unless he was taken home, that he would die from working so much. He apparently allowed himself “no Sundays off and no holidays”! He also walked 8 to 10 miles a day and somehow also found the time to create some of what are our most advanced and treasured technological advances, such as Wi-Fi. Such behaviour could only be Ashwini.
Ashwini natives are extremely sensitive to vibration of all kinds - sound being their most commonly attuned type. This is why many Ashwini natives are clairaudient and are able to tune in and listen to astral frequencies, messages, influences etc.
Ashwini natives are vulnerable to conditions such as ADHD, ADD, anxiety, OCD, dyslexia and other cerebrally charged or psychologically centred conditions, due to the intense Martial influence, combined with Ketu’s dispersive nature and Ashwini being the exaltation point of the Sun - the Moon being placed in this constellation specifically removes the natural inclination of the moon to soothe and calm one’s thoughts in order to reflect peacefully and rationally on how best to nurture one’s own needs.
Depending on the placement and drishti (aspects) to Mars - the ruler of this Nakshatra, the native can experience headaches which can range from mild to migraines, to the most extreme, like cluster headaches, which are the most painful condition known to medical science.
NOTES ON FAMILY LIFE:Ashwini natives are usually fiercely protective of their family and their usually amiable and friendly natures can take a very swift and dark turn if they sense any threat to their clan.
Due to the deities being twins - many twins are born under this constellation.
Depending on the graha (planet) situated in Ashwini, or if it is the lagna (ascendant) then where the ruler of the sign of the lagna is located - if this planet or house is one which represents a family member, in line with the separating, dispersing nature of Ashwini’s lord - Ketu’s nature, this family member may be lost or absent; often allowing for much sadness, grief and loneliness to occur within the native. Much in line with the nature of Ketu however, this loss is often transmuted into an invaluable type of wisdom and even the means for connecting psychically or clairaudiently (a prominent ability for natives of this Nakshatra) to the person on the other side (if passed on), and an attunement to the spirit world is established.
The ruler of Ashwini, Ketu - shares an inimical relationship with the moon who is of course in astrology, the representation of the mother, and thus Ashwini natives can experience a particularly tense, strained or unusual relationship with the mother. Of course this can be altered by benefic influences from other factors in the chart but some strange or unpleasant circumstance usually exists at some point.
NOTES ON RELATIONSHIP STYLE:
There is a noted aversion to marriage as marriage is seen as a restraint or repression on ones freedom and ability to do go abouts ones business unfettered and unbothered. Ashwini natives are said to be divinely inspired and anything that may present itself as a threat to the fulfilment of this mission would naturally risk being seen as something to denounce entirely. Here are some examples of Ashwini natives reinforcing this point;
“I really don't advise a woman who wants to have things her own way to get married. I worship you, but I loathe marriage. I hate its smugness, its safety, its compromise and the thought of you interfering with my work, hindering me; what would you answer?” — Virginia Woolf (Ashwini Moon)
“And this, incidentally, is my thumbnail sketch of American marriage: A woman sees a man; she likes him. Now she jumps on this thing and rides it to some kind of standstill. Then she changes it and trains it, and to the exact degree that she's able to do this, she disrespects him.” — Jack Nicholson (Ashwini Sun)
“I do not think you can name many great inventions that have been made by married men.” ― Nikola Tesla (Ashwini Ascendant)
“I think that the divorce rate's over 50% for a reason. I don't think people are taking enough time now to really see if they can make it work and live together.” — Channing Tatum (Ashwini Sun)
When in a relationship — something more likely to be undertaken by the female Ashwini; as loving and deeply caring as she may be — there always remains a certain tone of an almost unconsciously felt distance. The Ashwini native knows that any pairing is temporary and that as much as coming together with another is a wonderful and often exciting part in the play of life; that there is always something higher which holds them back from being able to utterly give “all” of oneself to another - how can one give all of oneself when one understand that the highest and most divine parts of a person are not able to be given? Earthly love is a wonderful thing, but the Ashwini native subconsciously, or otherwise, knows there is a love far greater.
The females are said to be very sexual, perhaps overly so. The combination of Mars and ketu makes an extraordinarily fiery nature which can extend to the sexual nature as well. Many sexually scandalous storylines have been printed about these natives.
A very sexually liberal attitude is often seen, especially in regards to gender— many Ashwini natives are bisexual and gay but most often at least reasonably open-minded.
Ashwini natives make wonderful, loyal and attentive friends who are useful for giving helpful, uplifting advice which is usually helpful and useful.
NOTES ON APPEARANCE:
THE EYES! I am able to recognise a person who have a Ketu Nakshatra prominent because of their eyes and the specific look these eyes have. They are not piercing and sharp, like those of Rahu natives — they are dead looking and absent, although if the native has influence from Rahu — the mix between two such descriptions can be truly terrifying.
Both natives of Rahu and Ketu influenced constellations look to some degree shocking or unusual or unique with features that are accentuated in one way or another, for better or worse. This may not be accentuated but many natives of nodal Nakshatra’s have a proclivity to dress or decorate themselves uniquely or unusually. This is of course not always the case but the caste of the nodes and thus the nodal nakshatras are described as being “outcaste” , meaning “not fit to be a part of normal society” and thus regardless of whether they attempt to or not; they are less likely to easily slip in inconspicuously with the general consensus.
The deities of this constellation - the Ashwini Kumaras were recognised and celebrated for their appearances. They are described as having a forever youthful, handsome and athletic appearance. This means that this constellation bestows the same qualities those people who carry this Nakshatra prominently. Ashwini natives are described as having an ageless countenance and are easily distinguishable by their exceedingly speedy and quick movements or ability to complete tasks, all of which will be done with a charming innocence and enthusiasm. Whilst these descriptions are all of course subject to interference from the influence of other factors of the birth chart — the likelihood that these natives appear unusually young, even well into old age is extremely strong. Both the appearance and demeanour of the older Ashwini native is youthful and the person often still very much looks like they did when they were younger, just simply older; unlike many people who grow nearly unrecognisable as time goes on. When these natives are in their adult years, particularly before 30+, they can even look quite literally like adult babies where people may genuinely mistake them for being many years younger than they actually are, the extreme examples even supposing them to still be teenagers (Selena Gomez, Melanie Martinez etc.). Regardless, these are your true baby-faces and often the lips are puffy and shaped like a baby's lips.
The smile is often extremely wide and stretches across the majority of the lower portion of the face. This frequently includes dimples or lines that indent the cheeks. The sides of the mouth often have what at home we call “curlies” which is where the corner of the mouth curves tightly up and inwards.
The complexion is often extremely pale and I have seen a number of cases where the person’s race may be ambiguous to the point of not even being able to be distinguished.
The hair is often dark and thick and heavy and if ethnically supported, dead straight.
The body frame is often very slim and unless the rest of the chart says otherwise, the person will generally be well proportioned with long limbs (like a horse) and a small and elongated waist.
The teeth are usually well proportioned, straight and white in colour. There are often big teeth seen here too which keeps in line with the horse theme!
NOTES ON STYLE & FASHION:
The dress sense often takes a very uniquely personal tone. The person may have a style that is fairly unique to them alone.
The women can often dress very hippy-like and adorn themselves with 60’s style fashion accessories and items.
The men like to play around with various components of the classic suit; be it dressing suit pants down with a t-shirt and big boots or wearing a blazer with billowing harem pants. Whatever it is; it’s usually unique and very stylish, much like the deities who were known for their attention to fashion.
Ashwini natives seem to love a pair of sunglasses! Or a hat! I have noticed they often wear both slightly tilted down, as if casually thrown on.
A common accessory is actually a cigarette or something which one can smoke!
Bright colours often feature in their choice of outfits.
They are usually very well kept and groomed. When this isn’t the case, it’s more often than not very much the opposite! Such is the nature of Ketu’s influence…
Shakti of the Azvini Nakshatra
QUOTATION from Dennis Harness:
(emphasis by BP Lama)
“The symbol for Ashwini is a horse s head representing a dauntless spirit of adventure and a head-strong nature .
The ruling deities are the Ashwin twins who ride in a golden chariot and shower healing energy down to the earth plane.
They are the Physicians of the Gods .
Their shakti is the power to quickly heal and reach what they desire.
This is a nakshatra of initiation, revitalization, and transformational healing .
The Ashwini natives have a deva, or godly temperament, and their primary motivation is dharma.
The ruling planet is Ketu (South Node of the Moon), which gives a mystical and mysterious bent to their life journey."

“Azwini Nakshatra Meanings
Azvini = light-and-sound healers who work with polarity and pulse, such as pulsing laser light beams. They are a pair and inseparable. Naturally, Azvini-born have superb hearing and are extremely sensitive to vibrational frequency. Although this technology and other similar light-and-sound healing methods were forgotten as previous civilizations each slipped into the bottom of the cycle, the present ear is returning to this ancient knowledge and collective memory is resurging.
The symbol for Ashwini is a horse s head representing a dauntless spirit of adventure and a head-strong nature .
The ruling deities are the Ashwin twins who ride in a golden chariot and shower healing energy down to the earth plane. They are the Physicians of the Gods .
Their shakti is the power to quickly heal and reach what they desire.
Azvini usually has a Twin = either a psychic twin or a physical twin. This twin is a person or a being to whom the Azvini native can listen clairaudiently.
Azvini inventors, scientists, intuitive are easily able to communicate with their twins on the Other Side.
This is a nakshatra of initiation, revitalization, and transformational healing .
The Ashwini natives have a deva, or godly temperament, and their primary motivation is dharma.
The ruling planet is Ketu (South Node of the Moon), which gives a mystical and mysterious bent to their life journey.
Sudden dispersal of outdated identity, eruption of new conditions, long-covered secrets revealed. Often an inventor; excavator; discoverer; initiator of new paradigms; agent of radical change.
Eccentric and unorthodox ideas emerge according to natal characteristics of Professor Ketu.
Detached and apathetic Ketu is naturally adversarial to the attached and sympathetic Moon. The mother may have been feeling ambivalent (Ketu) about her pregnancy with this child, or simply distracted by conditions of separation or loss in her own life. Perhaps her own mother was dying or there was some other abandonment script playing for the Mom.
The Child will be distinguished throughout life by an emotional Ashvini twinning behavior, in which one bonds to another person but not completely. One is implicitly aware of imminent separation from the root .
There is much time spent with the Other and a general acknowledgement of the bond but at the same time little celebration of the bond, little trust in its social future and little overt recognition of any element of attachment beyond the obvious features of physical companionship .
In order to mirror one's own subconscious emotional patterns, one attracts a core partner who expresses the materially inventive, pioneering, engineering but emotionally apathetic Ashwini behaviour.
Ketu-ruled Ashvini may experience some mental health issues, yet on the plus side this nakshatra is often blessed with clairaudient sensitivity
In and of itself, the gift is not useful until the native learns to control and refine one's healing powers. Like wild horses, Azvini needs skills training and inner discipline to apply the knowledge thus gained toward compassionate service. Otherwise Ashvini simply runs free - a being of great power and beauty but concerned only with self.
Needs space, is eccentric, a bit standoffish, yet physically quite extraordinary and may be capable of almost superhuman feats of endurance and speed.
Claims the privilege to live in one's own way, according to one's own needs, and does not brook interference.
Inventive, even genius, in a highly eccentric and personalized style. Not much engaged emotionally; likes to meet basic physical need for nurturing then off to the next idea. Independent nature.
Ideas often take precedence over emotion.
Deep emotional need to be independent and free-ranging.
Azvini = inventive genius and healer, but often swayed by Others. One of the primary challenges faced by one born into a Nakshatra of Ketuva = Azvini, Makha, or Mula = circuit-breaker Ketu tends to provide a blank screen upon which others may project their desires. It may be beneficial to meditate upon one's authentic preferences and secure one's choices by writing them or speaking them. Without a conscious awareness of the need to ascertain one's own true preferences, the natural apathy of Ketu may lead the native into inauthentic choices based on the will of more ambitious, more opportunistic Others (Rahu).”
FEMALE
BPL commentary
“For Azvini births of a feminine valence, the condition of limitless, observing, uncoupling, surrendering, abandoning, disinterested, ethereal, wandering, dispersing Ketu may considerably affect the outcome.
For those born into the Ketu-ruled paradigm of Nasatya, spirit guides, astral beings, ghosts, pilgrims, wanderers, cutters, dispersers, splitters, de-couplers, winds, flags, tails, cloudy figures, agents of impermanence and release, events of forgiveness and surrender, freedom from conventions, and inner listening may be especially influential.
Instructional guidance is provided by emissaries from the civilizations of Mezarthim. Their purpose is hearing the higher frequencies and healing intuitively.
Innovating Observer
Akaza-ruled Azvini ladies are independent minded. Nasatya-born ladies are often athletic. They may practice various methods for maintaining an exceptionally slender physique. Psychologically competitive, feminine Ashvayujau often appear nonchalant while quietly marshalling their militant forces.
Azvakini tend to marry fascinating Rahu-influenced partners, if they marry at all.
Azvini tends to express the innovative, competitive vigor of Mangala through the witnessing, detached behaviors of Ketu. All pada can be interested in medicine, but the 4th pada are nearly always midwives, nurses, physicians, dentists, or other recognized healing roles. Azvini damsels are often found in medical environments such as pharmacies, hospitals, surgeries, clinics, and birth centers.
Akasha-born are blessed with a psychic (Ketu) agility to enter and exit the fleshbody. This skill brings them into roles such as medical intuitive and spiritual healer. Their meditative and clairsentient skills may be advanced. Yet Asva is typically modest regarding their healing powers, which they tend to attribute to Others such as deities, medical science, nature, or their partner.
Themes of personal freedom, unrestricted movement, and intuitive awareness may contextualize Azvini's terrestrial experience.
QUOTATION from Shil-Ponde. (1939). Hindu Astrology Joytisha-Shastra . p 91
"... she will possess a modest, clean, wholesome, and admirable character.
She will have an inherent respect and admiration for older people,
particularly her parents
but she will be independent of them
because of her ability to earn her own living and to make her own career .
She will have a very good figure
and even, white teeth.
A capable and self-sufficient person."
the female Azvini native = "partner-optional"
Although companionship may be appreciated and Azvini may cheerful marry with positive expectation (so long as partner also enjoys a Rahu-Ketu ruled Chandra)
the independent and self-sufficient Azvini woman may live in Ketu-conscious-contentment without a full-time partner. Ketu facilitates disconnections and depending on matters seen within 7th-from-Chandra as well as rulers of 7th-bhava and 7th-navamsha, one may have scheduled a number of socially recognized severances.”
MALE
BPL commentary
“For Azvini births of a masculine valence, the condition of limitless, observing, uncoupling, surrendering, abandoning, disinterested, ethereal, wandering, dispersing Ketu may considerably affect the outcome.

"and now for something completely different"
Innovating Observer
Akasha-ruled chaps express the innovative, competitive vigor of Mangala through the observant, nebulizing filters of Ketu. Dasra fellows are famed for their pioneering inventions in medical, scientific, or technological fields. They are often obsessed with tools and gadgets. The 4th pada are nearly always physicians, nurses, or herbalists.
Competitive and irascible, often reclusive and disregarding of others' feelings, boldly productive Dasra are found in medicine, engineering, scientific instrumentation, and all species of gadgetry.
Azvikini are often found in medical or veterinary environments such as pharmacies, laboratories, hospitals, surgeries, and clinics. Due to their psychic (Ketu) capability to engage with astral patterns, Asvakini can also serve as medical intuitives and spiritual healers.
When looking for new ideas, they pursue an intuitive instinct to tap into the Akashic grid. Unconcerned with conforming to conventional expectations, they may seem selfish or rude. However, their job is to innovate, not to submit to old paradigms. Criticism rarely affects them.
Dasra-born hear the psychic instructions which guide their product design, surgical cutting, or drug formulation. Then, Azvini actively pushes (Kuja) the ethereal vision into material realization. Whatever endeavor they choose to pursue, Azvini tend to develop new methods and produce new things.
Azvakini fellows tend to prefer the freedom of bachelorhood. If they choose to marry, the mate shoulders most of the family duties. In relationships, much depends upon their Chandra.
Themes of eccentricity, invention, irritability, and psychic vitality may contextualize Azvini's terrestrial experience.”

He will be quite successful and his financial status will be such that

In spite of his ability to achieve success,
